A Special Honor for Kita Digital: County Administrator Names Sebastian Götz “Wine Ambassador” for 2026

Landrat Volker Knörr ernennt Sebastian Götz zum Weinpaten 2026.

Schifferstadt / Fußgönheim, August 15, 2026. At a festive reception in the Fußgönheim Castle Gardens last Friday evening, Sebastian Götz, developer of AI solutions for daycare centers and founder of the company Kita Digital, received a very special honor: District Administrator Volker Knörr officially named him the 2026 Wine Ambassador for the Rhine-Palatinate District. The honor underscores the growing societal value of technological innovations in the field of early childhood education.

The District Administrator awards this patronage annually to individuals who have achieved outstanding accomplishments or rendered exceptional services to the district. This year’s appointment was made expressly in recognition of the development of early childhood AI tools, which are designed to give valuable time back to educational professionals in childcare centers through intelligent automation.

Appreciation for High-Profile Guests and Dedicated Young Talent The award ceremony took place before a large audience, in the presence of the Palatinate Wine Queen as well as numerous prominent political figures. “It is a great honor for me to receive this award from the hands of District Administrator Volker Knörr and in the presence of the Wine Queen, representatives of the Rhineland-Palatinate State Ministry, as well as members of the Bundestag and the District Council,” emphasizes the 36-year-old from Schifferstadt. It was also a special priority for the new Wine Patron to thank the people working behind the scenes: “A huge compliment and my deepest thanks go to the trainees of the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis. They supported this wonderful evening in the palace garden with enormous dedication and the highest level of professionalism.”

A Signal for Digitalization in Early Childhood Education “This honor makes me incredibly proud for one very specific reason,” the media educator continues. “The fact that our vision with Kita Digital—the urgently needed relief of educational staff through smart AI technology—is now being recognized at this level as a valuable societal contribution to the district is a fantastic validation of our daily work. It shows that the topic is resonating in the center of society and in politics.”

Focus on Culture and Tradition: The patronage is closely tied to Palatinate culture and refers to the Regent vineyard in Kleinniedesheim, which is managed and cultivated by the organic winery Bio-Weingut Merkel. In addition to representative duties, such as the traditional rose planting with the Palatinate Wine Queen in the spring and the grape harvest in September, Götz received as a symbol the strictly limited magnum bottle (number 1 of 40) of the 2025 Regent.

“I sincerely thank District Administrator Volker Knörr, Head of Culture Paul Platz, and the Rhein-Pfalz-Kreis for this wonderful appreciation. It gives the Kita Digital project even more tailwind to continue working toward our main goal: ending the documentation burden in childcare centers so that, finally, more time remains for what is most important—the children,” Götz concluded. In this spirit: Here’s to the future of childcare centers, and cheers to the Palatinate!
