On April 26, 2026, I had the privilege of presenting Kita Digital to a statewide radio audience: I was a guest interviewee on the SWR1 Business News!
Why a Childcare Topic on a Business Broadcast? It might seem surprising at first glance, but the answer is obvious: The shortage of skilled professionals in early childhood education has long been a tangible social and economic issue. When educational professionals are forced to spend increasingly more time on bureaucratic tasks and documentation requirements, that valuable workforce is ultimately missing exactly where it is needed most—with the children. This not only places a burden on the teams, but it is ultimately felt by the families as well.
AI as the Answer to the Staffing Crisis In my interview with the SWR1 editorial team, I had the opportunity to discuss exactly how we are tackling this challenge with Kita Digital. Artificial intelligence in the childcare center office is not a technical gimmick, but a genuine, urgently needed resource. By deploying locally applicable language models, such as our specially trained EleMo model, we automate and simplify the time-consuming mountain of paperwork.
The core message I was able to share on the radio is also the daily motivation behind our work. We finally need to equip childcare centers technologically in a way that relieves the teams and allows them to catch their breath again. Every documentation step saved through smart workflows is a direct win for pedagogical work.
It was a fantastic experience to share our vision live on the radio. A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Kyrion and the SWR1 team for the engaging interview and their interest in innovations within the childcare world!
